Merry Christmas everyone!
Well first of all i love you all so much and i am grateful
for all of your support and love especially at this time of year! i am truly
grateful for this Christmas season and for the opportunity that the world has
to reflect and celebrate the birth of our Savior's humble birth.
This week i "killed" my trainer (missionary term
for sending someone home) i got to meet her parents, who are so awesome! i also
got to go to the transfer meeting where all the departing missionaries bare
their testimonies before they leave it was really good and made me
realize how much potential missionaries have to change and become more like our
savior which, made me want to continue to work hard and learn all i can!
I was kind of nervous for this new transfer and i was
feeling a little home sick with sister Williams getting to be home for
Christmas so sis Williams said it would be a good idea for me to get a
blessing. i was a little nervous about getting a blessing and i didn’t really
want to ask for one because i didn’t want to be a woozy sister missionaries who
needed a blessing, but i really felt like it would help so i reluctantly asked
some of the elders in our district to give me a blessing and i am so happy that
i did! it made me feel a lot better and gave me comfort and peace. It also
helped my testimony of the power of the priesthood grow.
NEW COMP: So Sister Breanna Blackburn is from Tooele Utah,
she is one of 5 girls, she has been out for 15 months and has served in Cape
Cod, and Cambridge and Nashua, aka everywhere i want to serve! She is really
different from Sister Williams which is not a bad thing but its going to take a
little adjusting. It’s really weird to be in charge of the area, but i like it
because now i am the member’s favorite! Also i finally get to drive which i
loved for like 5 minutes before stinkin tiwi yelled at me!
So Sister Williams and i would get up and workout/run
every morning and sister Blackburn doesn’t really like to run ha-ha but she
said she would still come with me! Thank goodness cause its holiday season so
everyone is giving us extra food/goodies!
Also a lot of people call Westerly West Italy which i
thought was kind of clever because everyone here is Italian
I can’t believe we still don’t have snow! it’s not fair! No
one here wants snow but i do! But it’s supposed to be warm on Christmas so sis
Blackburn and i are going to open presents at the beach!
Key Principle
So one of my absolute favorite talks is "The Challenge
to Become" by Dallin H. Oaks it is so good! READ IT
In contrast to the institutions of the world, which teach us
to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ challenges us to become
something."
I know that our Heavenly Father really is proud of us when
we do our best to parallel our lives with the life of our savior, that’s why he
sent him here to show us how we can become more like him and essentially return
to live with our father in heaven.
I love you all very much and i wish you a very merry
Christmas I know that all throughout the season everyone says remember the true
meaning of Christmas and it’s a bit repetitive but it’s true we need to take
time to realize what he did for us!
Xoxo
Sister Brooks
p.s. shout out to the millet side of the family, wish i was
there with all of you on the cruise.... ha but it’s cool I’ll be at the beach
too!
